TRUMP / BARR DOJ CAUGHT INVESTIGATING POLITICAL ENEMIES

The New York Times reported that Barr’s DOJ issued subpoenas to Apple for the metadata for Congressmen Schiff and Swalwell and members of their staff and families. This allegedly was part of an investigation into leaks coming from the House Intelligence Committee, yet no Republican members of that committee had their information subpoenaed. This looks more like the weaponization of the DOJ for Trump’s political advantage than it looks like a legitimate leaks investigation.

Trump/Barr’s DOJ Issued Subpoenas for Rep. Adam Schiff’s and Rep.Eric Swalwell’s Electronic Data

In a stunning revelation, even for the Trump/Barr Department of Justice, the New York Times reported that Barr’s DOJ issued subpoenas to Apple for the metadata for Congressmen Schiff and Swalwell and members of their staff and families. This allegedly was part of an investigation into leaks coming from the House Intelligence Committee, yet no Republican members of that committee had their information subpoenaed. This looks more like the weaponization of the DOJ for Trump’s political advantage than it looks like a legitimate leaks investigation.

Michael Schmidt, Washington correspondent for the New York Times, talks with Rachel Maddow about new reporting that the DOJ seized private data on members of Congress and their staff members and families, and still fresh revelations that the data of reporters was also subpoenaed in other investigations.

William Barr Tried To Undermine Michael Cohen Prosecution

According to multiple different sources who spoke with The New York Times, one of the first orders of business for William Barr when he took over as Attorney General was to try to undermine the prosecution of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer/fixer. Trump has repeatedly gone after Cohen since he testified before Congress, but it appears that he was more worried about Cohen than he let on publicly.

William Barr Record Of Deception For Bush Calls Credibility Into Question

Rachel Maddow looks back at how William Barr in 1989 as assistant attorney general, declared documents sought by Congress to be confidential and offered his personal summary instead, only to have his ruse exposed years later when the real document was released.

William Barr has a history of getting it wrong. From designing warrantless surveillance programs to justifying the president’s power to disregard acts of Congress, Barr has advanced dubious legal theories that have been rejected by the courts, Congress, and the public. (Source: aclu.org)

During a staged veto signing ceremony with Trump surrounded by “Yes-Men Trump Praisers”, William Barr behaved like a Brown-Nose Ass Kisser instead of the nation’s chief law enforcement officer by defending Trump’s Veto when legal experts have stated Trump declaring a National Emergency for his wall is an abuse of power.

Barr said in the Oval Office that the president’s veto over congresses rebuke of his declaring a national emergency was “clearly authorized under the law and consistent with past precedents” and “the humanitarian and security crisis we have on the border right now is exactly the kind of emergency that presidents are permitted to address under the National Emergencies Act”.

Even Fox’s Judge Napolitano says Trump can’t declare national emergency over border wall funding.

Every credible legal expert has stated Trump’s declaring a National Emergency for his Wall is an abuse of power and is illegal. This is another example of why William Barr is unfit to be the United States Attorney General and is nothing more than a PARTISAN HACK.

The following issues shows William Barr to be a lawless sycophant, incompetent and a failure to do what is in the public’s best interest;

• William Barr Condoned Obstructing Justice in The Iran-Contra Affair: In 1992, William Barr recommended President George H.W. Bush grant Christmas Eve, “Cover-Up” pardons to six men, including former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger and former national security adviser Robert McFarlane.

This gave clemency to people who had been officials in the administration of President Ronald Reagan, including former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger who had been set to go on trial to face charges about lying to Congress.

The independent prosecutor in the case, Lawrence Walsh felt the pardons represented a miscarriage of justice stating; “It demonstrates that powerful people with powerful allies can commit serious crimes in high office, deliberately abusing the public trust without consequences”.

This proves Barr condones putting certain people “above the law” and two (2) Justices Systems; one for the Rich and Powerful from his Party, and another for everyone else.

• Barr’s Memo: The fact that Barr created a 20 page memo critiquing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference raises questions about whether Barr deliberately sought to curry favor with Trump by taking a position favorable to him in order to secure a top government position. Barr’s statements condemning the Mueller investigation plus his refusal to release Mueller’s Report to the public unfiltered raises concerns that he may have a hidden agenda to Protect Trump, no matter what Mueller’s findings reveal.

• Obstruction of justice: The 19-page memo sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who was overseeing Mueller’s probe, argued that Trump’s firing of then-FBI Director James Comey in May 2017 did not constitute obstruction of justice. This is another example of Barr’s flawed thinking and reasoning. It is CLEAR that the primary reason Trump fired Comey was to stop investigations into wrong doing by Trump and his campaign personnel.

• Mueller’s Report: Barr has refused to release Mueller’s report to the public. The Public wants to see Mueller’s Report, not Barr’s.

Bush administration, Barr helped develop what became a “blueprint” for the National Security Agency’s mass phone surveillance program (Source: aclu.org). The stunning history of William Barr’s crusade to bury evidence to protect Republican presidents

Back in 1992, the last time Bill Barr was U.S. attorney general, iconic New York Times writer William Safire referred to him as “Coverup-General Barr” because of his role in burying evidence of then-President George H.W. Bush’s involvement in “Iraqgate” and “Iran-Contra.”General Barr has struck agai…

Barr’s Playbook: He Misled Congress When Omitting Parts of Justice Dep’t Memo in 1989

When Bill Barr was head of Office of Legal Counsel, he gave Congress the legal conclusions and reasoning of an important Justice Department memo but left out major portions of it. When the full memo was finally released nearly two years later it was clear what Barr had covered up, writes Ryan Goodman.

Bill Barr To Become Caporegime With Own Family Within Trump Crime Family

The Matt Whitaker era has served its purpose. As a transition from Confederate Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Whitaker’s illegal appointment, dull wits, and open contempt for the rule of law served to set the bar exceedingly low for his permanent replacement. That replacement will be William Barr, who was just confirmed by the Senate.

According to the above article, the only job Barr seems committed to executing, will be to protect Trump from the Mueller investigation, without committing abuses of power so obvious that the mainstream media notices the corruption.

Barr will sound “normal,” but his actions are already keeping in with Trump’s mafia-style approach to staffing government. From CNN:

“Mary Daly, Barr’s oldest daughter and the director of Opioid Enforcement and Prevention Efforts in the deputy attorney general’s office, is leaving for a position at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Treasury Department’s financial crimes unit, a Justice official said.

Tyler McGaughey, the husband of Barr’s youngest daughter, has been detailed from the powerful US attorney’s office in Alexandria, Virginia, to the White House counsel’s office, two officials said”.

Placing your family members in key positions to protect the president is not what a “normal” attorney general does.

Trump already thinks the White House counsel’s office are his personal lawyers and the attorney general is his personal lawyer, not the country’s. Placing his son-in-law in the White House Counsel’s office suggests that there will be a coordinated strategy between the Justice Department and the WHC to protect the president. And they can discuss it over dinner without any incriminating emails flying back and forth.
