Republicans Responsible for Wasteful Military Spending

Republicans have no problem spending trillions on the military and wars, but they want to cut programs like social security, medicare, medicare, food stamps, etc which benefits middle class and poor Americans

The Senate is debating an $886,000,000,000 defense budget. Here’s why I intend to vote against it.

Despite the fact that the United States has enough Nuclear Weapons to destroy the earth many times over, in 2021 the Pentagon wants MORE. (July 2, 2021)

What’s needed more than planes, tanks, ships, bombs etc is enhanced cyber security. Cyber is where current and future wars will be fought. We saw it in the 2016 election.

Trillions Of Dollars In U.S. Military Spending Are Unaccounted-For| Countercurrents

Before documenting that many trillions of dollars in U.S. Government military spending have been and are unaccounted-for, and that by far the most corrupt

Per the above article; “Before documenting that many trillions of dollars in U.S. Government military spending have been and are unaccounted-for, and that by far the most corrupt U.S. federal Department is the ‘Defense’ Department, it is important to document here, by means of the links that will be provided in this article, that, at least after the 9/11 event, the most respected institution in America has been and is the military, and so there exists in the United States a profoundly deceived public, which is a reflection of America’s having also a thoroughly corrupt national press or ‘news’-media, a U.S. press that is controlled by the same group of individuals who control the ‘defense’ contractors such as Lockheed Martin — the firms that derive all or almost all of their incomes from sales to the U.S. Government and to its allied governments.

In other words: the U.S. is controlled by a racket, and is not (in any other than the formal sense — e.g., its Constitution) a democracy. Consequently, this article will document in its links, that the publicized and widespread view that the U.S. is a democracy instead of a dictatorship is false and results from the dictatorship’s control over America’s press, with support from also the press in countries that are allied with and vassals of America’s dictatorship.”

The United States spent 900 Million a week on Afghanistan

Much of the Pentagon’s waste is due to contractors, which is a nice word for mercenaries. Their salaries are much higher than normal soldiers, and the owners of these private military companies have to get their cut of your tax dollars too

Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste

The military feared Congress would use the confidential data as an excuse to slash defense spending.

No one in congress has said anything about the Billions in Military Waste as reported in the above article “Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste

Republicans never say a word about Billions in Military Waste and don’t seem to give a damn. They keep giving MORE money to the Military to WASTE while giving Tax Breaks to the Rich, increasing the Nation Debt to over 20 Trillion Dollars… the highest it’s ever been.

Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Grills Military Contractor for Wasting Tax Dollars (June 3, 2019)

Unlike Republicans, who don’t give a damn about taxpayer money being wasted, Democrats DO CARE and try to hold Government Money Wasters accountable.

We need to defund the Pentagon and end this kind of wasteful military spending. Instead of writing blank checks for the Pentagon, let’s invest in education and jobs.

In 1991, Bernie Sanders made the above speech demanding that congress stop wasteful military spending. Since that time the military budge has only increased.

Our military should be used for the DEFENSE of this country only and unless we are attacked, all troops should be brought home… no more using our troops to police the world.

Unnecessary wars, trillions wasted on the military and Tax Breaks for the Rich is why we’re trillions in debt and have crumbling infrastructure.

Military Spending Cuts Needed

As shown in the above graph, the United States spends more on the military than Russia, China, the UK and 11 more countries COMBINED.  We don’t need more Bombs, Ships, Planes or any of the ridiculous Military items Republicans has no problem wasting tax payer’s money on. Because most countries have nuclear weapons, “mutually assured destruction” makes most of the items used by the military in the 20th century obsolete.

We need to cut military spending but Republicans disagree. Republicans “conservative” ideologies, values and thinking is rooted in the past. The same is true with their ideas about our military.

If it weren’t for the trillions of dollars wasted on the military and trillions spent on past failed wars such as Viet-Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan and others, plus the Bush Tax cuts, we wouldn’t have a 20 Trillion Dollar debt.

Republicans are being RECKLESS by cutting taxes on the Rich and corporations when we have a 20 Trillion Dollar debt. That debt needs to be paid down.  The cold war is over… we don’t need to spend trillions on the military any more.   That money should be spent on the American people, the poor, the homeless, not bombs and wars.

The number of agencies contained in the United States Federal Government is mind boggling.  Here’s a list of US Government Agencies.

If we were shut down some of the agencies which are unnecessary and cut wasteful military spending, there would be a lot more money to help the poor & homeless in this country and increase Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits for American citizens.

After Years of Wasted Spending, Congresswoman Lee Calls to Cut Pentagon Budget, Reprioritize Programs that Keep Us Safe | Barbara Lee – Congresswoman for the 12th District of California

Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California’s 12th District

Rep. Barbara Lee introduced a ambitious nonbinding resolution, which calls for $350 billion in cuts to the Pentagon. Similarly, the Breathe Act championed by Reps. Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib recommends “dramatically” reducing the Department of Defense’s budget.

While many would dismiss the idea of defunding the armed forces as beyond the pale, some perspective is needed. The Pentagon’s bloated budget could, in fact, be lopped in half, and the United States would still have the largest military in the world, by far.

Eisenhower’s Warning: Military Industrial Complex’s Growing Budget

United States military spending has ballooned since World War II, although Americans have historically been reluctant to go to war.

This was the Republican Party Platform in 1956 when President Eisenhower was campaigning to be re-elected as President. This is the platform Republicans should have TODAY.

If Republicans would make cutting wasteful spending a top priority, there would be funds to pay down our huge debt, fix our crumbling infrastructure and for programs which help average Americans such as SNAP, Health Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid & Social Security.
