Republicans in Oklahoma were given the chance this week to pass a law that would prohibit schools from engaging in corporal punishment of disabled students, but they just couldn’t bring themselves to ban the practice for the most vulnerable students. 43 Republicans in the state legislature voted against the measure, showing that they are perfectly fine with allowing these students to be beaten by administrators.
