House Republicans Bill Would Make Poor School Kids Go Hungry

H.R. 5003, Improving Child Nutrition and Education Act of 2016

House Republicans are trying to pass H.R. 5003, misleadingly titled “Child Nutrition and Education Act of 2016”, a bill which will inevitably take free school lunches away from poor schools and children.

The bill was introduced by Indiana Republican Todd Rokita and could affect up to 50,000 students just in his home state alone.

If this bill becomes law, it would jeopardize approximately 3.4 million students in the 7,000 schools that have already implemented community eligibility.

Please do not allow Congress to take food away from hungry children.

There has been virtually no news coverage about this.

If you find this reprehensible, call Indiana Republican Todd Rokita at 202-225-5037 and tell him what you think.  You can leave a Voice Message after hours and on weekends.
